Join us for a festive holiday basketry class, cocktails included! This is a cozy craft class with loads of holiday spirit at The Underfront, a speakeasy downtown.
You'll design and create a 100% cotton basket. They are relaxing to make, gorgeous for your home, and easy to coil -- great for beginners but also satisfying for advanced artists.
After choosing your favorite colors, art teacher, Star Edwards, will easefully guide you through making your basket.
You'll design, coil, and stitch your one-of-a-kind creation -- and have plenty of time to connect with friends while you craft.

Intro To Felting for Homeschoolers
This Introduction to Felting class is on Wednesday, December 2 from 12-1:30pm, where children ages 8-17 will felt a wool ornament!
Students will turn fluffy wool into an ornament using only warm water, soap, and needles. They will learn both methods of felting β wet felting, and needle felting.This is a fun, relaxing, and sensory-rich experience your child is sure to enjoy.
In addition to creating their ornament, students will also learn the history of felting, different methods of felting, and felting tools and safety. (Donβt worry, this is perfectly safe β the teacher, Star, taught her daughter to needle felt at 5 years old!).
Felting is one of the oldest-known textile arts, dating back to the Neolithic or Early Bronze Age β even before knitting or weaving. Children will get to experience holding a piece of history in their hands.
Your ticket includes cozy hot chocolate, all materials (including 100% wool), and all instruction.

Pine Needle
Basketry Series
Make a timeless basket completely out of pine needles!
You'll learn the same techniques and methods as the Indigenous people of this area.
By the end of this 2-class series, you'll have a beautiful pine needle basket, which is sure to be an eye-catching centerpiece in your home!
As you stitch your basket together and we sip pine needle tea, you'll have plenty of time to connect with the community of women at class -- and perhaps make a new friend or two! It's a beautiful, community-driven experience just like it was for the Indigenous people.
You'll leave with both a beautiful basket, and the skills to coil wall hangings, baskets, ornaments, jewelery, or anything else you can dream up from all those needles in your yard, too.
