Hi, I’m Star.

Growing up, I moved through life in pirouettes, with a crayon never too far away. I let my creativity loose at every turn, started teaching dance in eighth grade (even to adults when I was just a kid), and choreographed hundreds of dances. I dabbled in photography, studied music at the renowned Berklee College of Music, and performed off-off Broadway.

I always loved being with children and supporting their growth — babysitting turned into teaching dance for over a decade, which turned into teaching at a preschool, and then later, I worked as a lead teacher at a nature school.

When I got a "grown up” corporate job, my creativity stifled. My career soared but my heart felt stuck in some ways, unable to express. I found small "adult" ways to create, like writing a book, but I was missing the wild artist in me.

The gift of this time though, was beginning my own inner work and healing. I trained and opened practice as a transformational coach (which I’ve been doing in joy for 15 years now) and became passionate about creating safe, loving community for people to grow and transform.

When I birthed my daughter, the music of my soul came alive again, and when I began homeschooling her, the door to my imagination opened wide. As a Waldorf homeschool mom, I watercolored, finger knitted, needle felted, and sewed my way through the days with my little one. When I began basketry, I simply couldn't stop weaving.

I took a hiatus from coaching but felt inspired to return to it when moving to Asheville. Now, I specialize in nervous system and emotional regulation work, somatic healing, and reparenting the inner child.

When I shared my basketry online, many people reached out for me to teach their groups completely unsolicited, and Weaving Wonder was born. I have taught private groups as well as public ones, like pottery camp at Firefly Valley Designs.

Now, I fan the flame of creativity in children, and spark the well-worn match in adults that perhaps has been forgotten. Join me in a class and experience the ancient joy of weaving, modernized!
